Is fitness kickboxing effective for fat loss?
Kickboxing is one of the most effective workouts for building muscle, burning fat and getting the body you've always wanted. Kick boxing classes work by combining high intensity interval training (H.I.I.T.), resistance training and cardiovascular training into a fun exercise program.
Striking the heavy bag is a total body workout, allowing you to work your legs, arms and core at the same time. Unlike traditional aerobics classes our kickboxing classes are done in intervals ranging from 3-10 minute periods of hard work followed by short breaks. These short rest periods allow you to work harder on the next working interval. You'll move as fast as you can followed by a short break and repeat throughout the entire class. This is called high intensity interval training and is the key to burning fat.
Resistance is added to the class through striking the heavy bag. As you get stronger you will hit the bag harder and faster, adding a greater amount of resistance to the workout. This resistance training helps to build muscle through your entire body which will raise your metabolism throughout the day. With a higher metabolism you will be burning calories during and after class, even when you're not working out!
